1943 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-007

Description

1943-S WDDR-007 is a doubled die reverse on the 1943-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. E PLURIBUS UNUM, the dots, OF AMERICA, and the wheat ears show strong extra thickness. Obverse markers: scratches under the chin heading SE toward the 1 of the date; a scratch heading SE from the bottom of the RT in LIBERTY toward the bust; and a crack crossing the base of the bust from east to west above VDB, then turning southwest to the rim. Eastward, the same crack carries on across the lapel of the jacket, where a diagonal scratch running southeast crosses it. Reverse markers: a scratch running south between the upper and lower crossbars of the E in ONE; several vertical scratches inside the C and E of CENT; a diagonal ESE/WNW scratch through the RIC of AMERICA; and multiple vertical scratches through its AME.
