Description
The 1943-S Doubled Die Reverse DDR-002 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1943 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent, part of the Lincoln Wheat Cents 1909-1958 series. Die markers: UVC-3460 DMR-020 Stage A: Three small die gouges just above the Left stem tip – EDS Several strong die gouges through IN GOD WE TRUST – EMDS Very light die crack over V.D.B. UVC-1605 DMR-016 Stage B: Reverse is MDS Obverse die changed – MDS Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed).
