Description

ADC-1c-1943S-01 is an atypical die clash on a 1943-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. The obverse clash is moderately strong. Part of the N from CENT shows under Lincoln's chin, and a small piece of the C from CENT sits left of the nape of his neck. At the back of his head are clashed letters: UNITED's N and the O of OF. On the reverse, the back of Lincoln's head left a mark that reaches below the O of OF. Die markers for this clash: a die chip over the left side of LIBERTY's T, a die scratch that starts right of Lincoln's lower lip, and several die scratches in the space from ONE's E to CENT's T. The coin was discovered by Aaron Slager.
