Description
1942-S WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1942-S Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Extra thickness appears on E PLURIBUS UNUM (EPU), the dots, and both wheat ears. The obverse is also an RPM, 1942-S 1¢ WRPM-011 in the Wexler RPM Files, an S/S West & S West. Two scratches head ESE from the E of WE, starting at its upper right, and a crack follows the base of the bust. Wexler notes no reverse markers. James C. Moreland submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 2-R-VI, Coppercoins as 1942S-1DR-003, and Cherrypickers as FS-01-1942S-512 (18.93).
