Description
Reverse: Die Markers: Obverse: The obverse die is a strong Class IV doubled die that shows spread to the SW on IGWT, the date, and on Lincoln’s vest. Tripling shows on the letters of TRUST, especially the lower U. The obverse doubled die is listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1942-S 1¢ WDDO-002. A long die scratch extends north from the Y of LIBERTY. A die crack runs across the base of the bust. Reverse: Several parallel die scratches run south from IC in AMERICA toward the right wheat stem. A die scratch runs south from the bottom left of the O in OF to the top of the left wheat stem. Obverse:
