Description
Class IV, Offset Hub Doubling "Best Of" Nickel Doubled Die VarietiesA strong spread to the south shows on IN GOD WE TRUST, Jeffersons profile - especially the nose, LIBERTY, the star and the date. The spread was on an early hubbing as doubling does not extend to the rim on most letters around the rim. Cross-referenced as CONECA 2-O-IV; FS-5-1942-025. Die markers: Obverse: Short diagonal die gouge at top of Jefferson's eyebrow north of front of his eye; die scratch in field between U of TRUST and Jefferson's eyebrow; die scratch from top of G of GOD to rim.
