Description
An extremely strong spread to the north shows on the eagle’s beak, the entire wreath, the first T and second S in STATES, under the arrows, and the underside of the inner feathers as they near the outer wing feathers. Die Markers: Obverse: A die crack runs east through the hair at the top of the head. A die crack runs across the base of the bust and into the lower ribbon. A die scratch runs ESE from the lower T in LIBERTY. A die scratch runs SW from the lower I in LIBERTY. Reverse: A die crack runs down the eagle’s right wing.
