Description

Third documented doubled die obverse for the 1941 Denver Mint Walking Liberty Half Dollar, this variety was produced when hub misalignment during die preparation created visible doubling on Adolph A. Weinman's celebrated Walking Liberty design. The 1941-D occupies a significant position as a pre-war issue struck before the enormous wartime production increases of 1942 through 1945.
