1941-D Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

Very close splitting on GOD, TRUST and the heel of the right shoe. Die Markers: Obverse: E/W die scratch to the left of the upper area of the first 1 in the date. Die scratch from the bottom of the first 1 in the date ENE to the lower curve of the 9. NE/SW die scratches through the lower and center areas of the second 1 in the date. Reverse: The reverse of this variety is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1941-D 50¢ WDDR-001. Light die scratches south from the eagle's beak and palette area.
