Reported by Benjamin Mielke, DDR-004 on the 1941-D Mercury Dime presents medium spread across an extensive roster of reverse elements: STATES OF AMERICA, the top of the axe blade within the fasces, upper leaves, the right star, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and DIME. This broad distribution — spanning inscriptions and design devices across nearly the full height of Adolph Weinman's reverse — indicates a hub displacement geometry that influenced a wide swath of the die face at medium intensity. The fasces and olive branch motif provides particularly fine engraved detail where medium spread manifests visibly: the top of the axe blade, upper leaves, and flanking star carry precise lines that register displacement distinctly. The involvement of both upper E PLURIBUS UNUM and lower DIME confirms the spread extends vertically, while the partial STATES OF AMERICA selection defines horizontal extent. The 1941-D was struck at the Denver Mint in 90% silver at 2.5 grams during the final pre-war year — the United States would enter World War II in December 1941. Medium intensity is best confirmed under 5x to 7x magnification, beginning with the lettering and progressing to the axe blade and leaves.
