1937 Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-006

Description

1937 WDDR-006 is a doubled die reverse on the 1937 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. OF AMERICA, EPU (E PLURIBUS UNUM), the dots, and both wheat ears and stems show very strong Class VI extra thickness. Obverse: a SW-to-NE scratch crosses the top of the date's 1, and many circular scratches appear behind the neck in the field, over the upper neck and shoulder, and right of the lips, chin, and neck. Reverse: a short scratch heads NE off the E of STATES at its bottom right. Geoffrey Fults submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 2-R-VI; the Coppercoins number is 1937P-1DR-005. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
