Documented under Wexler Variety ID 1937 1¢ WDDR-004, this Philadelphia Mint Lincoln Wheat Cent displays light extra thickness on the E PLURIBUS UNUM lettering — a hallmark of minor hub doubling on the reverse die. The variety carries distinctive die markers on both sides: the obverse shows a series of die gouges below the lower bust, positioned between the lapel and the jacket fold of Lincoln's coat, while the reverse features a die scratch running northeast inside the L in PLURIBUS and a die chip appearing as a small dot on the underside of the right wheat tip near its end. These specific markers make WDDR-004 attributable even when the primary doubling is subtle.
