Description
1934-D VAM-4 Double Die Obverse, Micro D Discovered by ?, Leroy doesn't list. This coin is a Top 50 Peace Dollar VAM. 4 III 2 - B2a (Double Obverse, Micro D) I-4 R-5 Obverse III2 - Doubled forehead, eyelids, nose, lips, and chin. Motto letters and date digits doubled slightly on right side with WE having large shifts. Rays in tiara from midway between E and E back are doubled on left side with last three having very distinct separation. Reverse B2a - Micro D mint mark Comments: 1. Shared obverse with VAM-3. The DDO with Micro D reverse is much rarer than VAM-3 and sells for a substantial premium. 2. The Top 50 Book called it the "King of Peace dollar VAMs". *Note the complete separation on the ray doubling. The nostril, lips and chin are also doubled. The inside top of the D in GOD is also strongly doubled.
