Description
Part of the Indian Head Eagles 1907-1933 series, the 1926 Indian Head Eagle is a Gold Eagle from the Philadelphia Mint. Total mintage reached 1.0 million. The obverse features Liberty wearing a feathered Indian war bonnet, facing left, and the reverse displays a standing eagle with the mottoes E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. Philadelphia-only production after a multi-year gap. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.72 grams, 27 mm in diameter, with a raised stars edge. Cataloged as PCGS #8882.
