Description
The 1926 Indian Head Eagle is a Gold Eagle produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Indian Head Eagles 1907-1933 series. Total mintage reached 1.0 million. The obverse features a Native American wearing a feathered war bonnet, facing left and the reverse displays a standing eagle with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. Philadelphia-only production after a multi-year gap. The 1926 is one of the more available late dates. Estimated market value ranges from $2.6K to $2.9K depending on grade and condition. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.7 grams, 26.8 mm in diameter, with a raised stars edge. Cataloged as PCGS #8882.
