Description

This 1919 (S) Lincoln Wheat cent displays a rim cud on the reverse positioned just clockwise of 6:00. The break sits at the bottom of the reverse near ONE CENT, where the raised rim meets the collar and striking forces concentrate. The die lost part of its rim gutter there, and every following strike shows a raised interruption in the design rim that tracks the rim's course. Rim cuds at the 6:00 position are distinguished from one another by the angular width of the break and its exact relationship to the surrounding design elements.
