Description

ADC-10c-1918D-01 is an atypical die clash on a 1918-D Mercury dime, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. MDC places it in the atypical class because of how strong the clash is. An overlay shows where the dies sat relative to each other when they clashed. On the obverse, olive leaves are clashed in front of Liberty's face, the blade of the fasces shows in outline below her chin, and more olive leaves appear below her hairline. On the reverse, the back of Liberty's hair and the front of her face are clashed into the olive leaves.
