1917 Walking Liberty Half Dollar - Atypical Die Clash ADC-50C-1917-01

Description

ADC-50c-1917-01 is an atypical die clash on a 1917 Walking Liberty half dollar, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. Both dies clashed strongly. MDC classifies it as a vertically misaligned (conventional) or tilted die clash. On the obverse die, parts of AM and RIC from AMERICA appear, and the field between AMERICA and the eagle's wing shows as a raised line passing through Liberty's left sandal, into TRUST and GOD and on up to LIBERTY's TY. A second, weaker clash left a mark from the area between the right wing and leg of the eagle. On the reverse die, the U of TRUST, the D of GOD and the leg of LIBERTY's Y are clashed in, and the field near the bottom of Liberty's robe left a mark in the field behind the eagle's head.
