Description
A close Class II spread towards the center shows on the lower left wheat ear and grains, the left wheat stem, and slightly on the upper right wheat ear. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A short die crack runs SE along the base of the bust starting slightly west of the last fold in the vest. Obverse Stage B: The die crack is much heavier and extends to the rim. Reverse Stage A: A cluster of light die scratches can be found between the lower E and N of CENT. A series of west to east die scratches link most of the letters of EPU. This variety has the V.D.B. reverse. Reverse Stage B: The Stage A die scratches through EPU are nearly gone. The die scratches between the lower EN of CENT are still visible.
