1909 VDDR VDDR-042
Error
Description
The 1909 VDDR VDDR-042 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1909 Lincoln Wheat Cent, part of the Lincoln Wheat Cents 1909-1958 series. Die markers: UVC-???? DMR-0?? Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Reverse is EMDS Die crack shoulder to rim – EMDS Die clash at throat and in front of date Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed). Reverse is RDV-004 (Deep cut N, no V. D. B.) / RDV-003 (Shallow cut N, no V. D. B). Shoulder die crack is slightly farther West than VDDR-041. Same Obverse as VDDR-052 in a slightly later die state, but without the Reverse die crack.
