The 1907 St. Gaudens Double Eagle - High Relief Wire Edge, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, is part of the St. Gaudens Double Eagles 1907-1933 collection. With a mintage of 11,250, this is an extremely rare issue — the scarcer of two mint variants, with 3% of total production. The obverse features Liberty striding forward holding a torch and olive branch, with rays of sunlight behind her — widely considered the most beautiful U.S. coin design and the reverse displays a flying eagle with the rising sun behind it. First year includes extremely rare Ultra High Relief (originally "Extremely High Relief") versions requiring multiple strikes, plus Wire Rim and Rolled Rim varieties.
