The 1907 Indian Head Eagle is a United States Gold Eagle from the Indian Head Eagles 1907-1933 series — the first year of the series. In 1907, coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a combined mintage of 239,948. This ranks 4th of 15 years by total mintage, below the series median of 586,695. The obverse features a Native American wearing a feathered war bonnet, facing left and the reverse displays a standing eagle with the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. First year of the Indian Head Eagle. The Wire Rim and Rolled Rim varieties are extremely rare pattern-like issues. "No Motto" type begins. Struck in 90% gold, 10% copper, weighing 16.7 grams, 26.8 mm in diameter, with a raised stars edge. Across its variants, estimated values range from $2.6K to $606K depending on mint mark, grade, and strike type. A notable auction result reached $2185K in PR67 grade at Heritage Auctions.
