Description
1901-S WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1901-S Liberty Head half eagle, cataloged by the Wexler team. Class II doubling, spread toward the center, appears on USA (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) and FIVE D., strongest on FIVE D. Wexler notes no obverse markers. On the reverse, a short strong scratch sits just under the left side of the shield's bottom line, and a strong diagonal scratch lies south of it. OF's F has a light scratch heading SE off its lower left to the wing. Edward R. Mill submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
