Description
A variant of the Flowing Hair Stella struck in a different metallic composition from the standard gold version (J-1635). This alternate-metal striking allowed Mint officials to evaluate the design's appearance across different planchet materials. The Flowing Hair design by Charles Barber remains identical to the gold version, featuring Liberty with free-flowing tresses on the obverse and the iconic star-and-metric reverse.
Rarity Notes
R-7 to R-8 (Extremely Rare). Far rarer than the gold Flowing Hair Stella, with very few specimens documented.
