Description
The 1876 Proof Dollar Pattern - J-1473 is a proof commercial dollar pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Metric & Stella Patterns (1874-1879) series. It pairs the Liberty at the Seashore obverse with the commercial dollar reverse, a fantasy that USPatterns.com believes was made for sale to collectors, repeating the 1875 design of J-1423 to J-1425. At least three copper examples are confirmed. It is struck in copper with a reeded edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-7. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1624 and Adams-Woodin 1497. Cataloged as PCGS #61795.
