The 1875 Proof Dollar Pattern - J-1425 is a proof commercial dollar pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Metric & Stella Patterns (1874-1879) series. It pairs the Liberty at the Seashore obverse with the reverse of the 1871 commercial dollar patterns, a fantasy that USPatterns.com believes was struck for sale to collectors; the design was repeated in 1876 as J-1472 and J-1473. Adams and Woodin record two struck in aluminum, where the early editions of Judd say three; two are confirmed. It is struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-8. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1568 and Adams-Woodin 1422. Cataloged as PCGS #61732.
