Description
The 1875 Proof Dollar Pattern - J-1423 is a proof commercial dollar pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Metric & Stella Patterns (1874-1879) series. It pairs the Liberty at the Seashore obverse with the reverse of the 1871 commercial dollar patterns, a fantasy that USPatterns.com believes was struck for sale to collectors; the design was repeated in 1876 as J-1472 and J-1473. At least seven silver examples are confirmed. It is struck in silver with a reeded edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-7. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1566 and Adams-Woodin 1420. Cataloged as PCGS #61730.
