The 1873 Half Dime Patterns page groups the half dime pieces dated 1873 in the Trade Dollar Era Patterns (1871-1873) series, struck at the Philadelphia Mint from the regular dies in copper (J-1266) and aluminum (J-1267). USPatterns.com reports that the Mint again struck complete sets from the regular dies of every denomination in copper and aluminum for sale to collectors. The Coinage Act of February 12, 1873 ended this denomination.
