Description

Extending the conventional Seated Liberty quarter design into aluminum, J-1198 completes the standard three-metal survey for the traditional alternative to the Amazonian concept. The aluminum composition, while impractical for commerce, created a permanent and corrosion-resistant record of the conventional design for future reference. Among quarter patterns, the 1872 aluminum varieties are particularly scarce due to the reduced pattern production levels for non-dollar denominations.
