The 1872 Proof Dollar Pattern - J-1208 is a proof dollar pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Trade Dollar Era Patterns (1871-1873) series. Its obverse is William Barber's lower-relief copy of Longacre's Indian Princess seated Liberty, with 13 stars on the flag, and its reverse is the regular Seated Liberty dollar die; USPatterns.com notes that both pieces of this pair are struck on trade dollar planchets. The single confirmed example is ex Woodin, Newcomer, Green, Farouk and Bass. It is struck in silver with a reeded edge. USPatterns.com lists it as unique.
