Description

A remarkable mule combining the two-cent shield obverse die with a Seated Liberty quarter reverse die, J-793a is one of the most fascinating oddities in the 1870 Standard Silver series. Struck in copper, this denomination-crossing experiment paired a minor coin obverse bearing IN GOD WE TRUST with a silver denomination reverse, creating a numismatic chimera that could never have entered circulation.
