Description
A plain-edge copper striking of the modified Seated Liberty obverse with Standard wreath reverse. The 1870 Standard Silver dime patterns collectively represent the largest single-denomination group in the entire program, with 51 distinct varieties spanning nine design combinations — more than double the next-largest denominational group. This abundance reflects the dime's critical importance as the smallest silver denomination that would actually circulate under Linderman's standard silver proposal, making it the coin to interact with fractional currency notes in everyday commerce.
