In 1829, coins were struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a combined mintage of 5.4 million. This represents the highest annual mintage in the entire series, above the series median of 1.0 million. The obverse features Liberty facing left wearing a mob cap or turban and the reverse displays a heraldic eagle with shield on breast, olive branch and arrows in talons, with a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM. The first full year of the small-type Capped Bust Dime with the close-collar striking technology. Struck in 89.2% silver, 10.8% copper, weighing 2.67 grams, 18.5 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Across its variants, estimated values range from $6.3K to $54K depending on mint mark, grade, and strike type. A notable auction result reached $71K in PR66 grade at Stack's Bowers.
