The 1795 1/2 P North Wales - Lettered Edge Half Penny is filed under North Wales Halfpennies in the Washington Pieces (1783-1800) series. The North Wales halfpennies pair a bust of Washington with a crowned harp and NORTH WALES. Baker lists the piece with a star on each side of the harp as No. 34 and one with two small stars on each side as No. 35; he notes a thick lettered-edge striking reading PAYABLE IN LANCASTER LONDON OR BRISTOL. The 2019 Stack's Bowers catalogue observes that the dies were made to strike softly so the pieces would look worn from the start. It is catalogued as Baker-34, Musante GW-51. PCGS lists it as #773.
