1795 1/2 P North Wales - 2 Stars Half Penny
Strike Type
Coin Details
Description
A 1795 Washington North Wales halfpenny with two stars on the reverse. The North Wales reverse was a standard die used with Washington obverse dies by British token manufacturers. The two-star variant is distinguished from other North Wales types by the number of stars flanking the harp or other design elements. These tokens combined Washington's popularity with existing British token die stock.
Rarity Notes
Scarce. The two-star variety is a distinctive die combination.
