A 1793/2 overdate Washington Ship halfpenny struck in brass. The obverse features Washington's bust with WASHINGTON PRESIDENT legend, and the reverse shows a sailing ship. The 1793/2 overdate indicates the 1793 date was punched over an earlier 1792 date, a visible die variety. The brass composition gives this piece a distinctive golden color compared to the more common copper strikings.
