Description

A 1792 Washington President half dollar pattern with a plain edge. The obverse features Washington's bust with WASHINGTON PRESIDENT legend, and the reverse shows a large heraldic eagle with 13 stars representing the original colonies. This plain edge variety is one of several edge treatments found on the 1792 Washington President half dollar patterns. These were among the first proposed designs for United States silver coinage.

Extremely rare. One of the earliest proposed US half dollar designs.
