The 1792 Washington President Eagle Reverse - Lettered Edge Cent is filed under WASHINGTON PRESIDENT - Large Eagle with 13 Stars in the Washington Pieces (1783-1800) series. These 1792 pieces have the head of the 1791 cents with WASHINGTON PRESIDENT 1792, and a heraldic eagle with UNUM E PLURIBUS on a ribbon and thirteen stars above. Baker lists them in silver (No. 20, with a gold impression in the Parmelee cabinet) and copper with a plain or lettered edge (No. 21), and thought they were struck from experimental dies while the Senate bill still called for the President's head on the coins; the House struck that clause out before the Act of April 2, 1792. It is catalogued as Baker-21, Musante GW-31. PCGS lists it as #708.
