Description

A 1788 New Jersey copper with the horse's head facing right, the standard orientation for the series. 1788 was the final year of New Jersey copper coinage. By this time the Constitutional Convention had already drafted the new Constitution, and its ratification in June 1788 ended state coinage authority.
