Description

The standard narrow shield type of 1786 New Jersey coppers. The reverse features a smaller shield with the legend E PLURIBUS UNUM and a ribbon above. Multiple die marriages exist for this type. New Jersey authorized copper coinage on June 1, 1786, granting the right to Walter Mould, Thomas Goadsby, and Albion Cox.
