Description

A distinctive 1787 New Jersey copper variety where the horse's head takes on an appearance resembling a deer, with elongated features and what appear to be antler-like projections. Like the Camel Head variety, the Deer Head resulted from an unskilled engraver's attempt to copy the standard horse head design.

Rarity Notes

Scarce. Another popular animal-themed variety name.
