Description

A 1785 Nova Constellatio copper halfpenny with blunt rays. The 1785 dated coppers continue the Constellatio Nova design but are later issues, struck by authorized coiners or private minters. The blunt rays on the 1785 issue are similar in style to the 1783 blunt rays variety. These coppers circulated widely in the mid-1780s alongside state coppers and foreign coins.
