Description

A distinctive variety of the St. Patrick Farthing where the reverse legend QVIESCAT is misspelled as QVIESAT, omitting the letter C. This die error variety is scarcer than the normal legend farthings. The obverse retains the standard King David with harp and brass plug design. Like all St. Patrick coinage, these circulated in colonial New Jersey where they were given legal tender status in 1682.

Rarity Notes

Scarce die error variety. The C is omitted from QVIESCAT on the reverse, reading QVIESAT instead.
