Calling All Experts: Take Ownership of Your Specialty
We Need Your Expertise
NumisDex's long-term vision includes a formal Expert Attribution Committee — recognized specialists who serve as authoritative voices in their areas of expertise. Whether you're a published attributer, a veteran dealer specializing in die varieties, or a dedicated researcher with deep knowledge of a particular series, we want to hear from you.
What Experts Gain
Founding Expert status — Early participants will be recognized as founding members of the attribution committee, a distinction that will carry weight as the platform grows.
Weighted voting authority — Expert votes carry more influence in the community verification process through our tier progression system.
Public recognition — Your profile will display your areas of expertise and contribution history.
Shape the standard — Help establish attribution standards and best practices that the broader community follows.
Areas Where We Need Experts
While we welcome expertise in any series, we're actively seeking specialists in:
Early copper — Sheldon, Newcomb, and related attribution systems for Large Cents and Half Cents
Die varieties by series — Doubled dies, repunched dates, repunched mint marks, and overdate specialists for any denomination
Pattern coins — Judd and Pollock numbers, experimental and trial strike identification
Token and medal attribution — Civil War tokens (Fuld numbers), Hard Times tokens (Low/Rulau), and exonumia
Counterfeit detection — Authentication expertise for high-value varieties
Morgan and Peace dollar VAMs — Van Allen-Mallis attribution
How to Express Interest
The Tier Progression System
Even before the formal expert program launches, your contributions build your reputation through our tier system. As you submit varieties, vote on listings, and participate in the community, you earn Numiscore points that advance your tier level. Higher tiers mean your votes carry more weight in the verification process, and your contributions are highlighted across the platform.

Additionally, consider signing up for the waitlist for the expert attribution service that we are gathering interest on. We'll follow up individually with those that qualify as we formalize the program. This is your chance to help shape something from the ground up.
