The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son Jean Baptiste Crapeau on her back and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring Native American contributions to the United States. The 2023 Native American Dollar honors prima ballerina Maria Tallchief of the Osage Nation and American Indians in ballet.
