Description

The 2022 (P) Native American Dollar - Position B is a dollar from the Philadelphia Mint, belonging to the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series. The U.S. Mint gives 980,000 as the mintage for the entire 2022-P Native American dollar issue; the edge lettering was applied after striking, and Position B coins were never counted separately. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son, Jean Baptiste Charbonneau, on her back; the reverse changes every year to honor a Native American contribution. The 2022 Native American Dollar honors Ely S. Parker (Ha-sa-no-an-da), a Seneca Nation leader and Union Army officer who served under General Grant and drafted the surrender terms signed at Appomattox. The Philadelphia Mint, America's oldest coin-making facility, has struck coins continuously since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $6 depending on grade and condition.
