Description

The 2022 (P) American Innovation Dollar - Tennessee, Position A is a dollar produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the American Innovation Dollars 2018 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 453,425 examples, making this ranked 7th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 6% of production. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty with a geared background representing innovation and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring innovations and innovators from each state and territory. This coin honors the Tennessee Valley Authority, established in 1933, which brought electricity, flood control, and economic development to one of the nation's most impoverished regions during the Great Depression.
