The 2022 (D) American Innovation Dollar - Tennessee, Position A is a dollar produced at the Denver Mint as part of the American Innovation Dollars 2018 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 453,850 examples, making this ranked 11th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 6% of production. The obverse features the Statue of Liberty with a geared background representing innovation and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring innovations and innovators from each state and territory. This coin honors the Tennessee Valley Authority, established in 1933, which brought electricity, flood control, and economic development to one of the nation's most impoverished regions during the Great Depression.
