2021 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - SKH-1c-2021-13 Spiked Head

Description

SKH-1c-2021-13 is a recent-date Lincoln cent die variety. Modern cents were long regarded as too recent and too common to attract serious numismatic attention. As the Shield cent design approached its fifteenth year in production, however, a generation of collectors who grew up with the design began treating it with the same scholarly interest previously reserved for older Lincoln types. Documented spiked heads, carrying formal catalog numbers from Cuds on Coins, have benefited from this shift in perspective.
