The 2020 (S) Reverse Proof Presidential Dollar - George H.W. Bush is a proof dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint, part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The forty-first President (1989–1993), George H.W. Bush led an international coalition to victory in the Gulf War and presided over the peaceful end of the Cold War, including the fall of the Berlin Wall. His coin was authorized separately, by Public Law 116-112 of January 27, 2020. George H.W. Bush was honored posthumously following his death in 2018. The coin was issued in limited quantities as a collector-only release. As a proof issue, this coin was struck multiple times on specially prepared polished planchets using polished dies, producing mirror-like fields and frosted design elements. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #890863.
