The 2020 (D) Presidential Dollar - George H.W. Bush, Position A, struck at the Denver Mint, is part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date collection. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The forty-first President (1989–1993), George H.W. Bush led an international coalition to victory in the Gulf War and presided over the peaceful end of the Cold War, including the fall of the Berlin Wall. His coin was authorized separately, by Public Law 116-112 of January 27, 2020. George H.W. Bush was honored posthumously following his death in 2018. The coin was issued in limited quantities as a collector-only release. Denver's mint evolved from a frontier assay office into one of the nation's primary coin production facilities, opening in 1906. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #848387.
